What makes cashmere so special?

Cashmere is one of the softest, natural fibers in the world that prides its qualities in being lightweight and breathable. It is a long lasting fabric that ensures warmth and comfort and feels smooth like silk. The best part is, they get softer with age!

When paired with expertise in design, luxurious garments are made. Pieces that can ensure timeless elegance and essential comfort.

The science behind the cashmere wool.

The cashmere fiber is softer and thinner than sheep or merino wool. An extra fine merino wool has a fineness of 15 to 19 microns, whereas cashmere ranges from 11 to 18 microns.

While incredibly thin, the cashmere fiber is hollow, allowing it to be extremely soft and light. The hollow fiber gives room for an air chamber to exist, which acts as a thermal insulator that has exceptional property of thermo-regulation. With this breathability, it can keep you warm in the winter and cool in the warmer days. Not to mention, because of its hollow fibers, it is great in absorbing moisture!

How to care for cashmere:

When taken care of correctly, cashmere can last a lifetime.

Store in a breathable, dry space with moth-proof sheets. We highly recommend to not hang your garments as this can cause pulling on the structure over time.

Pills can form and are completely okay! They are particles of fabric that accumulate as tiny clumps from friction. Gently remove with a sweater stone or comb. Follow instructions for either tools.

There is no need to wash your garment too regularly as frequent washes can damage the fibers. But when a wash is necessary, we recommend professional dry-cleaning or using a mild detergent and hand washing your cashmere in cool water.

To hand wash:

  1. Fill a basin with cool water, with a small amount of mild detergent
  2. Soak the garment (do not mix colors) for about 5-10 minutes
  3. Gently swirl your garment, do not twist or rub!
  4. Carefully rinse your garment until water is no longer soapy
  5. Drain water, and roll it up in a towel to absorb and excess water if necessary
  6. Lay the garment flat to dry, so water weight does not pull the fabric.

Tip: leave out the fabric softener— this coats the cashmere fibers and can have the opposite effect!
